Three completely honest Suggestions from a cafe traveler

Die Schüler der Lupe

Defne Karaali

I have visited almost all the cafes in Istanbul and now I would like to tell you a little bit about them.

We all have a guilty pleasure that we can't give up. For many of us, drinking coffee is like that. Coffee culture is developing day by day and each of us is consuming coffee almost every day. Coffee culture is evolving every day and we drink coffee almost every day. Coffee chains like Starbucks are everywhere and offer a wide variety of coffees. The reason is that the coffee is brewed so quickly that the true coffee taste is spoiled and the coffee you drink has almost no coffee taste and is completely milky. As you my readers know, I really hate this >:( As someone who likes to go to boutique cafes, I try every cafe I see. I even created a list on "google maps" from the best coffee place to the least favorite. I would like to give you a few examples of cafes. Below I will rate the most popular cafes with a few important points.

The first place I want to talk about: Cafe Note

I actually found this place quite by chance. Looking for a place to wait for my friend, I found a not-so-crowded cafe and quickly grabbed my book and sat there. And I really liked it!!! For a long time, wherever I went to coffee shops, I always added an espresso. Because, like I said, it really tastes like milk...but here it was exactly as it should be. The location of the cafe is not well known as it is located in the lower part of Karakoy. I personally like the empty places more, it's more calm and more peaceful. You can comfortably read a book or concentrate on what you want. I can say that it is perfect for the trend of "romanticizing school”

The second place I'd like to mention: Collective Cafe

I think I am very lucky in this regard because last year this cafe opened near where I live. At first, to tell the truth, we decided not to go because the coffee was very lousy. After all, there is nothing worse than the bad coffee of the cafe I was so eagerly waiting for. At least the desserts were very nice. My friend and I went there every Friday to study and we ordered cookies and brownies to share. After a few months, the coffee and (maybe just us) desserts got better. People came from far away to see this cafe. I don't know how it became so famous, but I definitely recommend it. I especially recommend you to try their croissants. The crowd changes from hour to hour. I usually like to study on the high chairs that rest against the glass screen in the interior. You can also prefer this if you want. However, it is one of the most beautiful places to have a coffee with your friends at any time of the year.

The last place I want to mention is the newly opened EspressoLab factory.

Don't look at what I call the factory, Europe's biggest EspressoLab is there. It is like a normal cafe combined with a factory. Selling all kinds of desserts and offering alternatives such as pizza and sandwiches, this café is on everyone's lips these days. For this reason, I decided to go and try it because everyone praised it so much. Here are the points I want to tell you about:

The first thing I didn't like was that there was music in your ears all the time. Wherever you go, there are loudspeakers so you have to listen to all the music and it gets annoying after a while, especially if you don't like the music. On the other hand, this is a huge place, so you are very comfortable. You can go out in the garden if you want, or you can stay inside. It's completely up to you! One thing that surprised me despite my discomfort was that the place was completely full. Therefore probably you should go in the morning. Everyone sitting here was studying (I don't know how with all this music). Some of them were chatting next to them. I generally recommend going for just chatting with your friends. All the desserts were fresh and the coffee was good. However, I didn’t like the filter coffee and americano, they were not good. If you come here, you should definitely choose an alternative with milk.

I wanted to tell you about these three cafes. I hope it was helpful and you will go with your friend soon :)

I look forward to your comments on whether you like it or not. At the same time, if you have suggestions, I would be happy if you write them.
